How do I set up Target ACOS?

Target ACOS can be defined at two distinct levels, each offering its own significance and functionality. To gain a comprehensive understanding, let's understand these levels:

Account level Target ACOS

Account-level Target ACOS refers to the desired advertising cost of sales set for the entire advertising account. It serves as the benchmark ratio of advertising spend to sales, outlining the target you aim to achieve consistently across all campaigns within the account.

Campaign level Target ACOS

Campaign level Target ACOS represents the specific desired ACOS set for an individual campaign in your Amazon advertising account. As each campaign is tailored to different products, keywords, or customer segments, with its own distinct goals, defining a Campaign level Target ACOS allows you to establish the desired ACOS specifically for that campaign, enabling you to monitor and optimize its performance independently.

Note: If you haven't specified a Campaign-level Target ACOS, the system will automatically use your Account-level Target ACOS as the default value for all campaigns.

Now let's explore the process of setting the Target ACOS separately on these levels:

Setting Account level Target ACOS

Here are the steps to update the Account level Target ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sales):

Step 1: Click on the Profile-icon on the top right corner

Step 2: Click on the Accounts Manager

Step 3: To set the Target ACOS for a specific account, please click on the numerical value displayed under the "Target ACOS" column corresponding to that account.

Step 4: Enter the desired Target ACOS value in the text box and press Enter. Your Target ACOS for the corresponding account will be updated.

Setting Campaign Level Target ACOS

Here are the steps to override the Target ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sales) for specific campaigns:

  1. Go to the campaign manager.

  2. Click on the three dots next to the action.

  3. Select "Show Campaign Thresholds."

  4. This action will unlock the Target ACOS column for each campaign.

  5. Choose the campaign for which you want to update the Target ACOS.

  6. Click on "Actions."

  7. Select "Update Thresholds."

  8. Choose "Target ACOS."

  9. Enter the desired Target ACOS value for the campaign.

  10. Click "Save" to record the updated Target ACOS for the selected campaign(s).

Alternatively, this can also be done from the Ruleset Linked Campaign Tab with the steps as follows:

  1. Select any ruleset.

  2. By default, the "Ruleset Definition Page" will be opened.

  3. Go to the "Linked Campaigns" tab.

  4. View all the campaigns linked within the specific ruleset.

  5. Select the campaign(s) you want to update the Target ACOS for.

  6. Click on "Actions".

  7. Choose "Update Thresholds" from the drop-down menu(in exactly same way as in the former case).

  8. Select "Target ACOS" .

  9. Enter the desired Target ACOS value for the campaign.

  10. Click "Save" to record the updated Target ACOS for the selected campaign(s).
