Setting up a new Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC) instance is a straightforward process if you follow the steps carefully. This guide provides detailed instructions to help you create, link, and access an AMC instance through Adbrew.
Step-by-Step Guide to Creating an AMC Instance
1. Verify Your Account
Ensure you are logged into the correct account for which you want to create the AMC instance. Double-check the account name in the top-right corner of the Adbrew dashboard to confirm.
2. Navigate to the AMC Reports Page
From the sidebar menu, go to the AMC Reports page.
3. Create or Link an AMC Instance
Click on the "Create New AMC Instance" button
TIP: If an AMC instance already exists for the same brand, click "Link Existing AMC Instance" instead of creating a new one.
4. Enter Your Email Address
Next, Enter your email address and click "Send Invite."
Adbrew will automatically populate the email associated with your account. You can change this email if needed. This email will be used to access the instance once it is ready.
Important: Ensure the email corresponds to an Amazon account; otherwise, you’ll need to create one when accepting the invitation.
5. Check Your Email
Check your inbox for an email from Amazon titled something like "Invitation to advertising account: AdBrew"
6. Accept the Amazon Invitation
Follow the link in the email and accept the invitation.
TIP: Ensure you’re logged into the same Amazon account tied to the email used in Step 4.
7. Return to Adbrew to Continue
After accepting the invitation, go back to the AMC Reports page in Adbrew and proceed to the next step.
8. Enter Account Details (Step 2)
Fill out the required fields in Step 2 of the instance creation process:
Account Name: Assign a recognizable name to your AMC instance.
Entity ID of Sponsored Ads Account:
This will be auto-filled by Adbrew. If it’s blank, you’ll need to input it manually.
DSP ID:
The DSP ID will also be auto-filled if your DSP account is connected.
Update only if blank or incorrect. Click "Proceed" to continue.
9. Instance Creation in Progress
Adbrew will begin creating your AMC instance and adding you as a user.
This process usually takes 1–3 hours. During this time, the instance status will appear as Pending.
Once complete:
The status will change to Ready. You’ll receive an email confirmation indicating the instance is ready for use.
10. Link the AMC Instance to Adbrew
After the instance is ready, click the "Link AMC Instance" button on the AMC creation page.
11. Authenticate to Give Adbrew Permission to Show your AMC Data
You’ll be redirected to the Amazon Authentication Page to authenticate. Log in using the same email address you provided earlier.
12. Finalize the Setup
Go to the AMC Reports page in Adbrew.
You’ll now see all the default reports available for your instance.
Important Considerations
1. Data Backfill
After linking the instance, Adbrew will backfill 12 months of ads data into your AMC instance.
This process can take up to 24 hours.
During this period, reports may appear blank.
2. DSP Integration
If your DSP account isn’t linked, the DSP ID field will remain blank. You can proceed without it unless you have a DSP account.
3. Email Accuracy
Ensure the email you use matches an existing Amazon account.
Any mismatches may delay the invitation acceptance process.
By following these steps, you can seamlessly set up an AMC instance in Adbrew, enabling advanced reporting and analytics to enhance your advertising strategies.
