Adbrew now supports automation for Walmart advertising, making it easier to manage and optimize your campaigns.

If you're already familiar with Amazon automation in Adbrew, you’ll notice that the process and options are quite similar.

Setting Up Walmart Automation

To create a new automation rule for your Walmart campaigns:

  1. Go to the left sidebar, click on Automation > Ruleset.

  2. Click the “Add New Ruleset” button.

  3. Choose to either:

    • Create a new rule from scratch, or

    • Use a ready-made template provided by Adbrew.

Once the rule is created, you can associate it with one or more Walmart campaigns.

Available Walmart Automation Types

Here’s a breakdown of the Walmart automation types you can use, along with how to set them up:

Bid Automation

You can create bid rules to automatically increase or decrease keyword or product ad bids based on performance metrics such as ROAS, spend, conversions, or impressions.

Example:
Increase bids by 10% if ROAS > 4 and spend > $20 over the last 7 days.

💰 Budget Automation

You can set rules to adjust daily campaign budgets based on total spend or performance.

Important Note:
Unlike Amazon, Walmart does not provide hourly data. So, you can't create time-sensitive budget rules (e.g., based on hourly spend) for Walmart campaigns yet.

Placement Adjustments

Use rules to increase or decrease bid multipliers based on placement type performance (Search In-grid, Buybox, etc ). You can monitor and act on placement-level ROAS, CTR, etc.

Target Harvesting

Automatically harvest high-performing search terms and add them as keywords in your campaign.

You can set conditions like:

  • Harvest if clicks > 10 and ROAS > 3

  • Add as exact match keyword in an existing ad group

Bidding Strategy Adjustments

Use automation to switch your campaign’s bidding strategy based on performance. For example, switch from “fixed bids” to “dynamic” if ROAS drops below a certain level.

Campaign State Management

Automatically pause underperforming campaigns or re-enable paused campaigns once they meet certain thresholds.

Example:
Pause campaign if spend > $50 and ROAS < 1.2 over the last 14 days.

FAQs

1. Can I reuse the same automation rule for both Amazon and Walmart campaigns?
Yes, as long as the rule doesn’t use platform-specific attributes.
For example, if your rule uses “Top of Search Impression Share” (an Amazon-only metric), it won’t work with Walmart campaigns.

2. Can I use hourly data for Walmart budget automation like I can for Amazon?
No. Walmart does not currently provide hourly reporting, so real-time budget adjustments based on hourly data are not possible.

3. What happens if I apply a rule with incompatible attributes to a Walmart campaign?
Adbrew will show an error or prevent the rule from being associated with the Walmart campaign. You’ll need to remove or adjust the unsupported conditions.

4. Can I track what rules are applied to each campaign?
Yes. On the Individual campaign page, you can view which rules are currently associated with each campaign under the “Automation” tab.
