Every widget on your dashboard can be configured to use either dynamic or static dates, depending on how you want the data to update.

Dynamic Dates

  • Default mode for all new widgets.

  • The widget will automatically update its data based on the date range selected in the dashboard date range picker (at the top of the dashboard).

  • Useful when you want all widgets to follow a single date range selection.

Static Dates

  • Can be set from the widget’s individual settings.

  • The widget always shows data for the specific date range you select, regardless of changes made to the dashboard’s date range picker.

  • Important when using the widget in AI Summarization or when you want consistency across time snapshots.

  • If the widget includes a comparison trend, you’ll need to set static dates for both the current and comparison periods.

How to Change the Date Mode from Widget Settings

  1. Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) on the top-right corner of the widget.

  2. Select Edit Settings.

  3. Toggle the “Inherit Date” option.

    • When ON → Widget uses dynamic dates from the dashboard date picker.

    • When OFF → You can choose static dates manually.

  4. If using dynamic dates, pick a predefined range (e.g., Today, Last 7 Days, Last Month).

  5. If using static dates, select your desired date range.

    • For comparison widgets, set both the current period and the comparison period explicitly.

Tip: Use static dates if you’re adding the widget to an AI-powered summary or want data to stay fixed for reporting consistency.
