Every widget on your dashboard can be configured to use either dynamic or static dates, depending on how you want the data to update.
Dynamic Dates
Default mode for all new widgets.
The widget will automatically update its data based on the date range selected in the dashboard date range picker (at the top of the dashboard).
Useful when you want all widgets to follow a single date range selection.
Static Dates
Can be set from the widget’s individual settings.
The widget always shows data for the specific date range you select, regardless of changes made to the dashboard’s date range picker.
Important when using the widget in AI Summarization or when you want consistency across time snapshots.
If the widget includes a comparison trend, you’ll need to set static dates for both the current and comparison periods.
How to Change the Date Mode from Widget Settings
Click on the three-dot menu (⋮) on the top-right corner of the widget.
Select Edit Settings.
Toggle the “Inherit Date” option.
If using dynamic dates, pick a predefined range (e.g., Today, Last 7 Days, Last Month).
If using static dates, select your desired date range.
For comparison widgets, set both the current period and the comparison period explicitly.
✅ Tip: Use static dates if you’re adding the widget to an AI-powered summary or want data to stay fixed for reporting consistency.
